What you see is not the end
not the light, the darkness
is only proverbial.
Bring yourself closer
see the shadows
step on their toes.

You're just a little too far away
to hear the creaking cracking
just a little too far to the left,
stand up straight,
don't blink to adjust
to the gloom
Just step into the shadows
Breathe them in
You're just a little shadow too.
